Gunpowder Plot Day!
Join us in this entertaining re telling of the story behind the Gunpowder Plot. Discover the connections to the family that lived in the 1620s House. SPOILER! Their nephew, Sir Everard Digby, was hung, drawn, and quartered for his part in the plot!
Learn about the properties of gunpowder with our re-enactors and see examples of a 17th century cannon and muskets being fired. BEWARE – THE BANGS ARE LOUD. Ear Defenders are available for those with aural sensitivities. Our younger visitors can get stuck into some themed craft activities, a fun trail, and help us to catch the dastardly Guy Fawkes.
The day runs a repeat programme from around 11am- 1pm & then 1.30pm – 3.30pm.
£2.50 per person plus normal site admission (site admission tickets last for 12 months). No need to pre-book, just pay on arrival!
